CDHB Job Application Process
Below are the steps required to securing a position at CDHB.
Application > Interview > Background and health checks > Offer > Orientation
Job Application
To apply for a position within the CDHB you will need to complete the online application form and attach your current CV, including any relevant certificates and permits. When completing the application, it is important that you read the instructions carefully and complete all areas of the application form properly.
As an alternative to completing the application form on-line, you can print a copy and post it to us with other relevant documentation.
Job Interview
Our interviews often include behaviourally-based questions as this is a proven way to assess your skills, qualities and experience, and also your ‘fit’. During the interview you will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the role and the CDHB.
Your interview will be held by a panel of at least two people, including a line manager. In some cases you may be asked to attend more than one interview.
Applicants selected for an interview may bring a support person or whanau.
If you intend to bring support with you to an interview, please inform the CDHB contact person prior to the interview so arrangements can be made.
Background and Health Checks
Specific services or roles may require a police or security check to be performed prior to an offer of employment being made. If this is the case you will be notified before any checks are carried out.
For some roles you will also be asked to complete appropriate health checks and provide evidence of your immunisation status.
We will conduct reference checks with at least two verbal referees prior to an offer of employment being made. Please ensure your referees are aware that we will need to contact them and check their contact details are up to date.
Offer
If all goes well, we’ll make a verbal offer, which will later be confirmed in writing.
Employment Orientation
Once you have commenced employment, orientation will play an essential part in getting your career off to a great start at the CDHB. The orientation programme is an opportunity for us to welcome you to the CDHB team as well as introduce you to the organisation and its values. You will learn more about your division and team and the policies and processes that apply to your department and role.
Orientation Programme
- Formal welcome to the CDHB
