Working Together – Care and respect for others

It’s easy to pay lip service to caring and respecting people, but at CDHB we demonstrate it through listening to what others say, and acknowledging their contribution. We work very hard at maintaining honesty while being mindful of the feelings of others. It’s very much our way to willingly help others from different services, wards or disciplines.

Working Smarter – Responsibility for outcomes

We have a real willingness to seek out new and better ways of doing things. For us, it’s about being open to new ideas and discovering how to make them work, and also being proactive in putting ideas into action.

Being Responsible – Integrity in all we do

Integrity sits at the very heart of CDHB. We openly accept responsibility for our actions, and work hard to ensure that there is not a ‘name, blame, and shame’ culture. When mistakes happen, we view it as an opportunity for learning, and identifying ways to improve.

Leadership

Leadership is about showing how things should be done, and helping others to follow that lead. Here, that means holding your team together through encouragement, providing clear expectations, and acting as a role model. A good leader expects to be challenged and has the courage to say no at times. As a leader at CDHB, you’ll not only champion your team’s needs, but you’ll act as an interpreter and explain how the team fits into the bigger picture.
